The Rules!
[/center]Mature Content
Cussing, Sex, Violence, Drug Use, and so on may be used in role playing. Slash is allowed, it makes the board more realistic. Not every human you meet is straight, right? But, don't get too graphic or explicit about these things. If you have a feeling that the activities in your board are going to offend other people, put a warning in the title. If the thread gets out of hand, we'll put it into the mature area where you could get graphic. Please, if you can't handle it, don't join the site. We don't want anyone complaining about these things.
Activity
At least try to post once a week in RP. Don't give me crap that there were no threads to join, you could just create one yourself. If you don't post, we'll send you a warning. If you don't reply, or post on the site, we'll do a cruel thing and delete your account. This especially goes for canon characters! If you have to leave for a while, post in the 'leaving' thread or inform an admin by email or personal messaging. This rule is going to be strict, I don't want this site to die.
Realism
Mhm, be as realistic as you can. If you're character is mean, don't act them out as nice in RP. If there is a very good reason for doing this, than go ahead. But, I BEG YOU, stay away from not being realistic and giving a good reason for it. Like, if you're role-playing as Marv, don't make him dress in a pink tutu and start being a ballet dancer.

I don't want one liners, okay? I don't want two liners, okay? You get the idea. I want at least two descriptive paragraphs, if not more. It's not that hard. You just write what their thinking, feeling, what their wearing, what's going on around you...anything. Just stay away from writing useless spam about off topic things. You don't want to be writing about shopping at a mall, and than you randomly write about what 'Sally' your dog looks like. Okay?
Spelling && Grammar
Now, this really pisses me off. I hate whenever people can't spell correctly or whenever they can't use correct grammar! I don't mean that every word has to be perfect, we all make mistakes. It's fine if your character has an accent like Rogue's or Kurt's, and you want to write slang when their talking. Don't dare to try to get away with chat speak, I will hunt you down! In the chat box, it's fine but don't overuse it.

Posts are strictly to be in third person and past tense. That means you can't use 'I and My', okay? The only exception is when your character is speaking, m'kay?
Correct:
Rachel went for a peaceful walk in the beautiful woods. After a few minutes, she stopped to see a beautiful deer in front of her.
Incorrect:
I went for a peaceful walk in the beautiful woods. When I was walking, there was this deer in front of me. I didn't continue walking.
Incorrect 2:
Rachel is walking in the beautiful woods. She is still walking, and she saw a beautiful deer.
Spam
If you're spamming that means you're proving to us that you're an immature little brat that has no life. I don't want to see anyone spamming! It will result with banning your IP address. Phew, I got that over with....so many you're's. lol
Names
Proper Display Names. Code names are allowed, and full names are too. We just don't want people sticking with their display names as phoenix223 or yugiohfan_73.
No Godmoding
Godmoding is a form of indirect power playing, when you control your environment. For example,
"Mary walked into the Grand Hall. Everybody suddenly became very quiet and stared at her in awe."
You CANNOT control your environment like this. It's unfair and silly, as it's implying that everybody needs to be in love/awe of your character and as a result you are forcing them into predetermined relationships. Savvy?
A better example would be,
"Mary walked into the Grand Hall, which was humming with activities. She waved at her friends, making her way over."
This is allowing other people to have a chance to react in a way they would like.
Mhm
As you all know, there is a section at the bottom of the application. That part requires you to put in the words 'He Said, She Said' to get approved. Happy role playing...or profile creating!
Accounts
Mhm, three accounts max! You're allowed two canons and one original or one canon and two originals. If you would like an extra account, please PM the head admin (Rachel). Please give your reason (about three informative paragraphs), and give the character you would like to play. You don't have to do that unless I personally ask you to play a character, or your RP skills and activeness on the site is high. (Ask first if your activeness and RP skills are high first)
No Mary Sues/Gary Sues!
There are to be NO Mary/Gary Sues in this site. These are characters who have very cliche histories, act in a certain off way or manner. Mary Sues can be perfect, beautiful, smart characters who everybody seems to love etc, or they can be depressed, suicidal, sexually abused etc characters who hate their lives and want nothing more than to die. This is a cliche and abused plot line and these people often tie into Godmoding.
No Power playing
Lastly, but probably more importantly, NO POWER PLAYING. Sometimes power playing is necessary otherwise role plays take foreeeveerr but in that case it's easy to retaliate and contradict a power play. (eg. taking somebodies hand and leading them around, for example, is alright. If they don't want to happen, they can just post that they pull away.)
Power playing is controlling another character. There are two ways to do this- Directly and Indirectly.
Direct Power playing is like this;
John gave Mary a charismatic look. Mary swooned and began to chatter to her friends about how good looking she found him.
This is intolerable. If you are playing John and you control Mary like this, both Mary and the other people rping with you are likely to get ticked. Direct role playing is when you directly control what the other character says or does.
Indirect Power playing, while less obtrusive, still gets annoying.
Lora punched Lou, making him fall down and scream in pain.
This is when you control what HAPPENS to a character, for instance, whether or not he gets hit by a spell, etc. Role playing etiquette says that you must let the character decide whether or not he gets hit. For example,
Lora throws a punch at Lou.
This gives the other character an opportunity to either dodge/take the hit/ decide what happens to their character. It's much easier and much more polite, see?
Punishments
Hehe..the fun part. Punishments will vary due to the crime you commited..erm, rule you broke. If you have a one liner, you'll be warned and your thread will be locked. If you Godmode, you will be banned for a day. Understand? Okay, the rules are done.
